Automotive CTF 2024 Final
Introducing the Vicone X BlockHarbor Automotive CTF Final.
Summary
Last month, on the 21st, I attended the Vicone X BlockHarbor Automotive CTF Final event held in Detroit, Michigan. The team I was part of, "JJJJJ," was the only team from South Korea. Together with my five teammates, including myself, we participated in the final competition, solving CTF challenges. As a result, we achieved an impressive third place.

Review
The environment at the venue where the final took place was very comfortable, and the event organizers who welcomed us were incredibly friendly. Inside the venue, there were various hardware setups for automotive hacking (such as clusters, vehicle door control systems, etc.), which made me feel like I had entered DEF CON's Car Hacking Village.
The final competition was held from 10 AM to 5 PM local time. At the start, there were so many challenges compared to the available time, which made things a bit chaotic. However, after relaxing a bit, we were able to dive into solving the challenges.
Our team approached the challenges strategically. We assigned team members to different challenges based on their strengths, allowing each person to focus on areas they were most confident in. For more difficult problems, we collaborated and discussed solutions together. I believe this method was very effective for us.

Although the event lasted for only a short time, I believe we did our best and had a lot of fun during those hours. After the competition ended, we took a brief team photo and then had some refreshments while participating in an interview with the organizers. It was great to discuss the overall event and share various thoughts with them.

Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the organizers who prepared and hosted this event. If the competition takes place again next year or in the future, I would be more than happy to participate. I look forward to the opportunity to meet again.
